As previously announced, the much-anticipated Lightning Talks 4 will take place on 2nd November 2024. With two special guest attendees and all the entrants now actively preparing, the energy is palpable. Many students are currently immersed in drafting their scripts, designing slides, and refining their presentations. I am pleased to share that the programme for the day has also been finalized.

Lightning Talks, where each speaker is allotted five minutes to present on the event's theme, has quickly become a highlight of our Japanese language studies at Nihongo Net with Noriko. This annual tradition is embraced enthusiastically by participants, with many finding the experience both challenging and rewarding. One of its key merits is the demand it places on participants to craft their presentations from the ground up — whether independently or with guidance from me — fostering deep engagement with both content and language.

In crafting their speeches, participants must pay careful attention to the structure of their presentations and the precision of their language. It is a process that encourages reflection: What have I learned? Which expressions best capture my ideas? This thoughtful preparation pushes speakers to think critically about how to convey their thoughts clearly and effectively, a truly enriching exercise for any language learner.

This year, I am delighted to announce that we have 9 registered speakers, and there will be about 15-16 viewers on the day and I am eagerly anticipating their diverse and insightful presentations.
